Therapeutic Songwriting for Children:
A Songwriting Facilitation Workshop
for Music Teachers, Parents, or Homeschool

This informative workshop will give attendees the tools to support children in finding creative outlet through collaborative songwriting. Teachers and parents will learn to establish an environment that facilitates creativity, strengthens positive classroom community, and promotes confident self-expression, emotional well-being, and self-awareness.

The process of songwriting will help students acquire an understanding of the creative process from concept to completion, and develop musical skills in form, rhythm, melody, and harmony, as well as recording and production techniques.  Emphasis will be placed on creating a supportive environment that will encourage student experimentation, enjoyment, and enthusiasm to share their songs with others.

We define “therapeutic songwriting” as the creative process of giving voice to experiences by transforming them into musical artistic expression, thereby providing opportunity for self-reflection and healing integration.

Offered for schools, teaching conventions, and continuing education learning centers as well as home-schoolers and interested parents.
